What is the Zombie couple trend?
A couples trend for Halloween where one partner survives the zombie apocalypse and the other is the zombie who still wants a cuddle. It mixes a horror setting with a sweet, silly ending, which is why couples post it as a joke about each other.
How it works
Add your photos
You (the survivor): face clear, chest up. Your partner (the zombie): face clear, chest up.
Pick a style
Choose foggy street or empty supermarket. A short direction is optional.
Get your take
A 8-second vertical MP4 arrives in 2–4 minutes, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
What happens in the 8 seconds
- 0–2s
You walk ahead, glancing back, while your zombie partner shuffles after you with arms out.
- 2–5s
Your partner catches up and reaches for your shoulder, and you turn around.
- 5–8s
Instead of a bite, a clumsy zombie hug, and you burst out laughing and hug back.
Ideas for your take
- A Halloween post for you and your partner
- A playful anniversary message in October
- A couples costume idea before you commit
What it costs
One take uses 40 credits. Your first take on MagicTakes is free. Credits come in one-time packs, never expire, and a take that fails gives its credits back.
| Pack | Takes | Per take |
|---|---|---|
| Starter · $9.99 | 2 | $4.00 |
| Creator · $29 | 8 | $3.52 |
| Pro · $79 | 25 | $3.16 |
If a take doesn't look right
- The two people swapped roles
- Check the slots: you go in the first slot, the partner who becomes the zombie in the second.
- A face doesn't look right
- Use sharp, front-facing photos in good light, one person each, without sunglasses or filters.
- The hug looks awkward
- Make another take from the same photos. Each take is a new attempt and the motion varies.
Questions about Zombie Couple
What photos do I need?
Two photos: one of you and one of your partner. Each should show one person facing the camera, chest up, in good light.
Who becomes the zombie?
The photo in the second slot. Swap the photos if you'd rather be the zombie yourself.
Is it scary?
Not really. It's light movie make-up, a grey tint and messy hair, and a silly ending: the zombie only wants a hug. There is no blood or gore.
How long does it take?
Usually two to four minutes. You can leave the page; the take is saved in your library when it is ready.
How much does it cost?
40 credits for an 8-second take. If a take fails to generate, its credits go back to your balance automatically.
What happens to our photos?
Your photos are deleted after 30 days, and your takes are private unless you share them yourself.
Can I post it on TikTok or Reels?
Yes. Takes are vertical 9:16 MP4 files made for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Download the take and post it like any other video.
Whose photos can I use?
Only photos of adults who agreed to it, so ask your partner first. Photos of children can't be used.
