How to Turn Your Pet Into a Knight in Shining Armour on Video

Some pets carry themselves like royalty already. The Knight Pet template on MagicTakes gives them the outfit to match: shining armour in front of a castle, filmed like an epic movie hero in a 8-second vertical clip. One photo of your dog or cat is all it needs.

What the knight pet video looks like

Your pet is dressed in a fitted costume and sits proudly, filmed from a low angle in golden-hour light. Its face, eyes and ears stay its own and stay uncovered, so it is clearly your pet under the armour.

For the first three seconds it sits proudly while the wind ripples its fur and snaps its red cape. From three to five seconds it turns its head slowly toward the camera with a noble look. In the last three seconds it lifts its chin toward the sky as the sun flares behind the castle. The low camera is the one films use for a hero.

It is the most cinematic of the pet templates. The slow camera, the wind and the light at the end are what make it feel like a film trailer rather than a costume photo.

How to make it on MagicTakes

  1. Open the Knight Pet template.
  2. Upload one photo of your pet, facing the camera, with its whole head and ears in view.
  3. Choose a look: Knight, King or queen, or Space explorer.
  4. Tap Make my take. It costs 40 credits, and your first take is free with a small magictakes.com mark.
  5. Wait two to four minutes. You can leave the page; the take is saved in your library when it is ready.
  6. Download the 8-second 9:16 MP4 and post it.

Which photo works best

The costume is built around your pet's head and ears, so those need to be in the photo.

A side-on or sleepy photo can work, but the heroic pose reads much better when your pet is looking toward the camera with its head up. Calling its name just before you take the photo usually gets the look.

  • One pet facing the camera, whole head in view
  • Both ears visible, so the costume fits around them
  • Bright and sharp, without filters
  • A proud, alert expression suits the heroic pose
  • No people or other pets in the frame

Choosing a look

Knight is polished silver plate armour with a deep red cape, on a grassy hill below a stone castle with towers, under a golden-hour sky. It is the full epic version and the one in our example.

King or queen gives your pet a small golden crown and a red velvet robe with white fur trim, sitting on a golden throne in a grand throne room with tall windows and candles. It is ideal for a pet who already rules the house.

Space explorer is a white space suit with no helmet, so the whole head shows, on a spaceship deck by a large window onto a glowing planet and a starry sky. It is the one to pick for a curious, adventurous pet.

Ideas for posting it

Takes are silent 9:16 MP4 files for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. A dramatic sound suits the slow, heroic camera.

Eight seconds gives the slow, heroic build room to land, so post the take as it is rather than trimming it. If you make all three looks, post the knight last; the sun flaring behind the castle makes a strong finish.

  • An epic birthday portrait of your pet
  • A heroic intro for your pet's account
  • Caption the knight take "Defender of the sofa"
  • Caption the royal take "Her majesty requests dinner"
  • Post all three looks and let followers pick a favourite

When a take doesn't look right

Each take is a new attempt from the same photo and stays in your library, so you can compare a few versions and keep the one where your pet looks most noble.

  • The armour covers your pet's face: use a photo with the whole head and both ears in view, then make another take.
  • It doesn't look like your pet: use a bright, front-facing photo where the face and markings are sharp.
  • The costume looks stuck on: make another take from the same photo. Each take is a new attempt and the fit varies.
  • A take failed to generate: its credits go back to your balance automatically.

Whose pet you can use

Use a photo of your own pet, or of a pet whose owner agreed. If a person is in the photo, crop them out first. Uploads are deleted after 30 days, and your takes stay private unless you share them.
